Nathan Killen has hunted the mountains of Virginia his whole life and has had great success hunting close to mature buck bedding areas. During the off-season, Nathan spends a lot of time scouting in areas he suspects there to be mature bucks and tries to figure out where they may be bedding. Once he finds these areas he hunts around the bedding cover which is usually on steep hillsides that are thick with mountain laurel. If you hunt any big timber or hill country bucks you won't want to miss out on learning from Nathan's success!

Warren Womack has been hunting large tracts of public land in the South for the majority of his hunting career. In these large, unbroken, tracts of timber he has spent many hours scouting throughout the hunting season looking for the hot sign he wants to setup on. Unlike the broken habitat of the Midwest, the south has much more potentail for bedding cover. Instead of hunting bedding areas, Warren's main focus is hunting "feed trees." In this episode, Warren talks about how to find these feed trees and how scouting in season has led him to a lot of success hunting public land in the south. Not only has Warren had great success from his many days in the field, he also has some pretty crazy stories of which he shares a few in this episode.

THP uses two main trail camera strategies that differ greatly. One strategy is more of an investment for the future and the other is used to get information that can be used in-season to pattern bucks. In this episode, Zach and Jake talk about specific situations where they have used trail cameras to pattern bucks in-season and even more specifically during the "October Lull". They talk about how to setup these cameras, how to setup around them, and what NOT to do when using trail cameras. This discussion will hopefully help you know when to confidently dive into bedding areas and make aggressive sits during the early part of the season, based off of your trail camera info.
